I would like to encourage each and every Apple Valley resident to
volunteer some personal resources to a local, national or world
charitable organizations. Much help is needed everywhere. |
|
|
|
Personally, one of my favorite organizations to support is "The Lost Boys
of the Sudan" and their local chapter, "The
Lost Boys Foundation of Nashville" |

This group of young men have suffered more in their short time on this
planet than most would ever experience in the next 100 life times. One
would have thought that they had reached the "Holy Land" when they
arrived in the "land of the free" from the refugee camps of Africa.
Unfortunately this is not the case. They were not provided the
language, social or educational skills needed to be self-sufficient in a
land and culture so different that they might as well been dropped of on
another planet. |

I am certainly not knocking the charitable work that brought them from
Africa. I am merely trying to provide some insight and understanding of
their current plight. |

Whenever you have people teetering on the edge of survival during economic
good times, you CAN'T imagine their condition during "bad times". |

Over the next few weeks I will be creating a database of local, national
and world organizations that help the needy and provide links to their
websites. These links will range from Food Banks, to Big Brother and
Sister organizations to Animal shelters and more |

I personally guarantee that your contributions will benefit you equally as
much as it will the recipient of your efforts! |

Thank you for caring, |
